The new community festival on the Bolehills was hailed a great success, with several thousand people enjoying the sun, music, workshops, and even getting a peek inside the park's Pavilion building.
Craig and Anne spent the day talking to residents, many of whom had not fully appreciated before what the park had to offer. "Across the city the Labour-run council is really committed to protecting parks and green spaces, and initiatives like this encourage more use of parks,” said Craig. "Many people were saying how glad they were that the event had opened their eyes to all the Bolehills has to offer," continued Anne.
The councillors have supported the event organisers RiteTraxs, along with Crookes Forum, to make the festival a reality.
"When you can look round and see the place brimming with life, a real sense of community, and know you had a part in making it happen, that's a great feeling!" said Craig.
