Josh Wilson is standing for election as Labour councillor in Stannington Ward at the May 2018 local elections. Josh sets out why he deserves your vote.

I have lived in Sheffield all of my life, having attended school, college and university in the city. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Politics and Sociology.

I live in Shiregreen, and as an active Labour Party member I am currently the Secretary for my local branch, as well as being Secretary for the Brightside and Hillsborough Constituency Labour Party.

Aside from my Labour Party activities, I also play an active role in the community as both a governor of Longley Sixth Form College and as the co-chair of Shiregreen Sports Badminton Club.

As someone who has both family and friends that live in Stannington and surrounding areas, I am aware of the issues that are important to local people, including public and school bus services; the importance of safety reassurance for residents in the Deer Park area following the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower in London; and traffic issues on particular roads (most notably Stannington Road and Tofts Lane).

In the run up to the local elections I also look forward to speaking to many other people who live in the ward to find out what is important to them. I relish the opportunity to become your Labour councillor.
